This is AU:
Derek cheats on Addison, so she leaves him without telling him. She spends a night in a hotel to decide what she's doing. She chooses to go to LA and live there. She begins working at the practice and tries to move on, but she can't because she misses Derek too much.
Derek is told that Addison left by Richard and Adele... he is miserable without her so he goes to LA after her. He apolgizes for his actions and they begin attending couple therapy to get things back on track.
And ta da, happy ending for Addek!
