@viverito Close. Lucia was Slovak; this is in Czech. The two languages are closely related.

Such longing captured so beautifully in music. Dvorak was my introduction to classical music years ago with his Carnival Overture, and Lucia Popp was exquisite.

Superb singing as usual. A glorious peice - I first heard it sung by one of my singing teachers though nothing compares with the incomparable Lucia. A great loss to the world.

@ediblemarie Oooohh..couldn't agree less! It lends her true strangeness I've not seen in any other rendition.
@Kropikovo apart from Dara Rolins who totally destroyed it once on a TV show when she made a pop version of it. Should have gone to jail for that...
