Demo of Gallien-Kruger's Diesel Dawg Bass Overdrive pedal.
Based on the high gain channel of G-K's 2001RB bass amp head.
The Diesel Dawg distortion/sustain pedal created specifically for bass.
Demo done by Talkbass member Joe P.
Thanks Joe

  • 0redthunder0, I don't know what it is that you can't agree with, but I'm glad that you have found some gear that you're happy with. This was just intended to be a demo so folks can get a sample of what it might sound like. Some of us have difficulty finding shops that stock some of this stuff to test in person.

  • does anyone know what happens when you use a guitar pedal on a bass!?? cant find bass pedals for mine...

  • Usually a dirt pedal intended for guitar will not retain enough bottom end to sound decent on bass... usually. This can be alleviated sometimes by blending some of your clean tone with the dirty tone. YMMV

  • I am a huge fan of GK amplification, would you recomend this pedal?

also are thoes scrunchies on the end of your bass lol? wht are they for(if there is any reason, i know not everything hac a reason because i have breadties tied to my E&A string )

  • I love that thing so much. Ever since mine stopped working I've tried so many other pedals for bass distortion but nothing comes remotely close to what this thing can do. Worth every penny.

  • @TheThangfish He was disagreeing with your reply to KillerWario, with regards to using a guitar effects pedal with a bass.

  • @TheThangfish I hate to say but I can't agree with this, I recently bought a Biyang fuzzstar fuzz pedal, in the "bright" mode or middle switch (i have forgotten the name lol) the low end is massive! I never use this mode because of the extreme low end! There are a few guitar pedals that are really good on bass too :)

  • Emma Electronic PisdiYAUwot all the way!!!

  • Powerful.

  • @KillerWario the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff is a guitar fuzz that's legendary amongst bass players. In general the important difference in design between guitar and bass pedals is that guitar pedals do not cover the low frequencies of basses, so aren't affected by the pedals' effect

  • if you play motörhead.. you´ll need it.. and with a fretless it may sound good... but for 99% of all cases a tube amp is a better choice...
