When you restore, does that delete all apps etc you ever downloaded? Like a whole new iPod?

Can you jailbreak iphone without a computer? Wondering if i can just dl cydia or is it not that simple. Thanks

If it gets bricked from a bad download or something like that.... Can you restore it or will I need an unbricking tool as well? I am also hanging out for the 4s jailbreak but unsure I it is safe do you have any advice on that? Thanks, piece out
