Transience 23. Horse - Story

While doing some 'deep mapping' around Neroche, I was struck by how much our relationship with horses is written into the landscape. Tom Mayberry, a famed local historian and writer spoke with me about the Portman Estate near Taunton Racecourse. He said that "at one time, you could ride between Taunton and London entirely on Portman estate owned land." So I put my recording of Rosie galloping over the Neroche landscape next to a video of me walking in Portman Square in London (until recently home to the Jockey Club).
