  • hahahahaha its sOO LOL I LOVE THE EYES!!! is it true that a motor drive IC like the l293d is solely used just to add more power to the motors? make em spin faster cos the PIC cant supply enough voltage?

  • the L293D only makes your motors spin in both directions.

  • but i can make them spin in both directions using just programming techniques and connecting the motors straight to the PIC...

  • that might be because your PIC already has the L293D on-board..

    I´m using Arduino.

  • You need the L293D because the microcontrolled can't draw enough current to the motors. Also, it can convert a PWM signal to a linear voltage output. ;)

  • definitely not im using a 16F648A...its so annoying, i been looking through all the data sheets, websites for drivers and not one can describe WHY you really need it...i know there must be a good reason but i just dont know what it is...
