  • i say we vote every single one of these animals out of office and get 500new animals.

  • i say we vote every single one of these animals out of office and get 500new senators and congressmen

  • I find it ironic that Fox News covered that article since they have people that use the same rhetoric on their own network.

  • I am truly saddened to hear John McCain misconstruing comparisons to characterize this debate as strictly partisan.

Yes, some lawmakers supported slavery. Reid did not say they were Republicans. He didn't say they were Democrats. He said lawmakers - of that time.

McCain speaks here defensively because there is little to defend the Republicans' obstructionist strategy.

I've always respected John McCain. He has always chosen the path he thought was right. Obviously, he will no longer do that.

  • You can't just make stuff up, sorry.

  • That is simply untrue. Prove to me the link between Nancy and any "union" people that "stood guard" at town halls.

  • drowning out opposing views is all Nancy Pelosi is about. They limited who was able to go to town hall meetings by using Unions to stand guard, intimidate and remove people who were possible protestors. That in itself is damn near unconstitutional. Town Hall meetings are public and should not be filtered so a certain crowed can be weeded out and not represented.

She says she wants to represent the American people, but they has never so much opposition against a bill in US history.

  • Thats funny, because in January of 2006, Nancy Pelosi said "So I think all of you who have spoken out for your courage, your point of view. All of it. Your advocacy is very American and very important." she was talking about people who were protesting the war, but in August 2009, she says "These disruptions are occuring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views - but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-american"

    Seems very hypocritical to me.

  • Nancy doesn't have a problem with dissent. She has a problem with dissent that drowns out the other side. You can have an opposing view, but don't yell so loud that you don't let the other side speak and talk over them. That';s all she was saying.

  • No she didn't call republicans who oppose the bill unamerican!!!!

Here is the full quote of what she said in August:

"To disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American."
