Here is an option of a low impact take down for the OG's (old guys) that don't have the speed they need for a quick shot or suffer from back problems. The key here is keeping tight.Remember that not all wrestling is applicable to bjj or submission grappling and vice versa. There is a time a place for everything and all moves require PRACTICE and DRILLING.There are counters for every move in wrestling and jiu jitsu as well.

  • Hey if this move (like every other move) works for someone, then it works for that someone. There are no "supreme ultimate most AWESOME moves" out there because not every technique works for every fighter. If that was it, then eventually we would be left with one martial art in the world. If you can keep an open mind and not be a stuck up douchebag about martial arts techniques, then you're going to do a lot better than someone who is because you'll be open to learning more.

  • @berner nicely said and what we have been trying to get across with Submissions 101 for the past 4 years!

  • I cant believe all you guys are hating on this move. This is one of my favorate moves. I dont consider myself a good grappler as a matter of fact Im crap. But this is one the few moves I can pull on people who are 2 belts higher than me, and I can testify to this in more than 1 dojo. Please keep up the wrestling posts.

  • @NorthPoleXmasTrees What you will find is that everyone has an opinion on grappling and what works and what doesn't.

  • 1. Damn iPod flagged it

    2. Guy looks gay but no hate I wrestle first year for my school. But if I saw one of my team members do that I'd laugh and congratulate them.

  • @kilerseven i would just keep in that position, because shifting to chest on chest would create separation in the process of the transition giving your opponent the ability to escape or get off their back

  • So here's a question from a newbie wrestler... Would you go chest to chest with that or keep that position?

  • @Submissions101 works well with a whizzer if someone tries to go for an underhook on you

  • can you get a head and arm from the ending position of that takedown?

  • THX ALOT TIS IS GOING TO HELP! i have youth wrestling tornament tommorow andi now know anothetive way to fell my opponent

  • My opinion is that if you learn the moves then you have more options in which you can go to when something else doesn't work to catch the guy out. Its better to know it, add it to your arsenal. then use it rather than just write it off as not good.

  • Great move! Very effective specially when alternating with hip tosses to confuse your opponent.

  • lol@"weird arm shit"

  • If you just keep your hips high, and your head loose, you can usually just pop your head out, and take his back. This is pretty much a hip toss.
