@StickManga Absolutely. Every set was that loud (the sound checks that morning woke up a friend of mine that lived a couple miles away), but for some reason the micing on the kick drum during HP's set stood out above everything else. Everyone I know who was there mentions it whenever we talk about FreeKy Fest.

I remember people starting to go apeshit once bass drum first kicked. They had it miked so loud you felt a wall of air hitting you in the chest each time Trevor hit the drum. Amazing show.

It was an awesome show to be at. As for the crowd? What do you expect from a group of people who showed up to see the Apples In Stereo? Just not the kind of music most people there were into, is all I'm saying.
On a more awesome note: I got a phone call from a buddy later on telling me he could hear Hair Police's set from 3-4 miles away. :) Just plain awesome :)

I couldn't agree more, G. Thanks for the feedback. And should those kids be standing so close to the speakers? Probably not, but at least they have sense enough to cover their ears.
