The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Health Professions Dean Harold P. Jones interviews experts in our school who are tailoring innovative solutions to real world problems. Our monthly program is called, "Shaping the Future of Healthcare."

This month, Dean Jones interviewed Dr. Patricia Jennings, director of the Surgical Physician Assistant program, in the UAB Department of Clinical & Diagnostic Sciences. She is also a nationally recognized authority on infectious diseases with special expertise in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Dr. Jennings has served as project director for the CDC-funded Alabama/North Carolina STD Prevention and Training Center, has developed a model national curriculum for physician assistant students in the area of AIDS prevention and treatment and practices clinically at the Birmingham Veterans Administration HIV/AIDS clinic. www.uab.edu/shp
