Lyrics:
Every time my diaphragm contacts
My ribs expand with my thoracic cavity
They protect the lungs
And aid in their expansion
And that's the way
The skeletal system has a respiratory role to play
Yeah, Intercostal muscles
Help inhale and exhale too
Expand the ribs to draw air in
The nerves inside them stop overexpansion
Alveoli,
Are lined with capillaries,
To permit oh so many
Gas exchanges
Blood distributes
Oxygen to cells in the body
Air enters, the nasal cavity
Moistened by mucus, warmed by capillaries
Hairs and cilia, filter out particles
This doesn't occur, in the oral cavity, YEAH!
Next, air moves, into the pharynx
Enters the trachea after the larynx
Through a bronchus, then bronchioles
Into alveoli, to undergo the gas exhange
Breath on, Breath on, Breath on
Exhale that C O 2
Breath on, Breath on, Breath on,
Increase the P O 2
Breath on Breath on Breath on
Breath on Breath on
Breath on Breath on ONNNNNN!
Asthma is, a common condition
Affecting the lungs, via bronchioles
Symptoms are, bronchiole irritation
Muscles contract, and constrict the inflamed airway
Triggers cause, most of the symptoms
These are often found, in the environment
Examples, are cold air and smoke
Usually puffers reduce inflammation in the airway...
