H-rotor with tripple savonius as start aid. Built in an outline frame.
The blades are 50cm long and 16cm wide at a turbine diameter of 90cm.
The flat side of the airfoils is outside.
It is driving a brushless direct current generator using a 72:18 (4:1) drive ratio. When you look close enough you can see the driven ultra bright LED on the upper left of the frame.
Ball bearings are taken from inline skates.
The "wind indicator" shows that there is quite a lot wind.

this would be great for some low RPM generator/motor, but high torque at shaft
