Embarrassing funny true story: I was in college at this time and saw this in the theater with my girlfriend. Well, she absolutely loved the talking penis made up to look like a face. So much that she demanded I let her do the same to mine. Of course I laughed and said no way. But I soon realized that that part of me would be having no fun with her any time soon unless I relented. It took about 30 seconds for me to cave completely. Always prayed there were no hidden cameras.

I'm hearing that before the theatrical release of "The Groove Tube," there was the stage revue of "Channel One," and on PBS TV, "The Great American Dream Machine," both which featured young Chevy Chase. I rarely see pics of Chevy pre-Saturday Night Live, but I got a real big laugh over his hippie hairdo from 1973's Off-Broadway play "Lemmings," not to mention "Walk... Don't Walk," where his hair was kind of wiry, from 1968. Can I see what Chevy looked like during his Channel One days?

That movie had me laughing so hysterically, when I first saw it. I wasn't ready for how it would get to me...the "Sex Ed" commercial being particularly off-the-wall.
The children's show segment, "Kinko the Clown", was funny too.
The movie perfectly reflected the complete wackiness, (and fun and lightheartedness) of the '70's era. You know...smiley faces, and "have a nice day".

I Am SO SUrprised that NOBODY Remembers that This was AIRED on NETWORK TV!! in the 70's!!
(Complete WITH the talking Penis AND if I remember correctly the nekkid guy running through the woods (lots of frontal nudity etc.etc.)
I ThinK what happened was the censors or execs didn't watch the actual movie and thought it was tamer than it was)
I was like 10yrs old watching an upside down penis out of channel .. ?5 maybe from New York around 1pm!!
