Get yourself a leaf spring off a 1 ton truck to break those cracks a slab rock apart thats what I use

@jessgo33 Remember, gold is very dense, a +3/8"square nugget would weigh almost 7dwt or over 10.5 gm. It's not going to move up and over the grizzleys without some help.

That looks like a very good spot. How dose the gold pump bucket work or the Bazooka? I would be scard that a nugget would float over the grizley bars. Pretty good video

Gold will settle down to the bedrock in placer streams and rivers. It usually does so in paystreaks on either side of the higher velocity water flow. Just because you dig down to bedrock, it does not mean you will find gold. You must read the river for likely places gold will settle and then sample pan those areas before starting to dig to the bedrock.
