@tiagoagfaria biggest load of rubbish i have read for a while - go and learn how engines work, then move on to how a clutch and gearbox works. You have absolutely no working knowledge of cars.

I'm not saying that you should accelerate only at low rpms, i'm just asking doesn't the cold harm the turbo if you load it too much when the engine is not yet warmed up?
-
Do you actually know what are you saying? Going under 2000rpm in any engine will damage your clutch and the (volante bi-massa - cant spell it in English), costing about 1500€ repair in Opel. It is not a exact 'science' since going at 1500rpm downhill or uphill will have different impact. My suggestion is to listen, to feel and to check the instant consumptionof the engine and try to drive it in a level of rpm that will not force the engine. In this 1.3 i suggest always between 2000-2500.

Okay, missed the reply button :D
Interesting...but i still don't get this: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - you mean, when you let off the accelerator or what? Isn't that the same at 2700rpm and at 2000? The turbo needs some time to speed up?

why would it be "unvise"? isn't it only better for the engine(if it's cold) and saves gas too
