  • Excellent! Thanks!

  • She was a friend of my father's family in St Louis and he always used to tease my mother by telling me when I was little girl that Marion could have been my mother. Since Daddy was a little younger than Marion, my mom would always come back with something to the effect that she would have had to make sure he could go out on a school night. I always thought she was the most glamorous person who had anything to do with St Louis.

  • Marion Marlowe was from my home town on St. Louis and appeared many times in productions at the 12,000 outdoor summer theater, the Muny, in Forest Park. She also appeared on Broadway many times, most famously as the Baroness in "The Sound of Music." She was a thorough professional, always dressed perfectly, coiffed perfectly and poised perfectly. She always held something back; there was always the sense of never quite seeing the real person. So audiences were always fascinated with her.

  • Fondly remembering this lovely lady from the Author Godfre Show
