@Dortmunderhonk No you don't throw away 1000-2000$ :p You just have to notice where you main canopy lands and you take it back !

i have a question im a noob I just did a tandemjump 2009 but if you cut away yor main canopy does it mean that you throw away 1000-2000 € or $
what is youre main aim after you land? do you try to follow the fall of the main chute during reserve flight ? Or do you have to accept that the chute is lost for ever when you cut off in high altitude? dont get a bad oppinon about me of cause it ist the biggest thing and you are thankfull that you are alive :-)

I love how when I watch these cutaway videos just how fast the reserve deploys after the cutaway. Either an RSL or quick hands :D...
