Use the screen to shake up the defense. Use tight ball handling to get to the hole. 1. Set up the screen Use a subtle signal to call your big man up to set the screen.
2. Isolate the big man When the defenders switch to cover you, take advantage of the mismatch. Clear the lane so you can use your speed to beat their big man.
3. Crossover Hit the slower big man with a fake in one direction then cross him over the other way. This should get your defender moving back to cover your next step.
4. Step back and hesitate When you have your defender on his heels, take a big step back and pause with your dribble to get him to expect a shot.
5. Go strong to the hole Once he goes for the shot block, make your move around him and go for the clean finish.

  • @mo389 Well is a matter of when u start to count. Normally refs will not count the first step bc the dribble is still on, something normal bc no ones knows if u will keep with the dribble or make the 2 steps and jump for the layout.

  • this video just proves to me that they allow 2 steps in NBA and one extra step for a jump. Thats so strange to me coming from europe.

  • @madsxcva

That's exactly my point. The rule book says it should be travelling, but it never gets called. Offensive players should have to use skills to fake out a defender. If they're allowed to just carry the ball without dribbling, it makes it too easy and helps ruin the game.

  • @hat301 not in the nba bro.

  • Look more closely. The ball is moving straight down, then suddenly changes direction and starts moving sideways. That's not physically possible unless his hand got under the ball at some point.

And all 3 steps he took were AFTER the dribble, so that's travelling.

  • @hat301 no he didn't if you look closely it was on the side while part of his fingers were under. That might and might not be a travel but basketball rules you get one free step while in the dribble and two after the dribbble

  • He most certainly did have his hand under the ball at 0:40. Technically a dribbling violation ("carry"), but they're 2 sides of the same coin. He also clearly took 3 steps after terminating his dribble, at 0:44 (left foot), 0:45 (right), and 0:48 (left).

  • @hat301 Note: He never had his hand under the ball and he did not catch it with both so no he didnt and you probably ment double dribble not traveling because its not the same

  • i need somebody to help me with my fake jabs, or shots or any FAKE:D im good at crossovers i just cant get the floater or layup in the paint..

  • @hat301 how is that a travel wen he never stopped his dribble smart one
