Few day ago I have bought Hammond P-100. It's a European version of Hammond Porta-B known in USA or should I say transportable version of Hammond L-100.

It was in not so good condition (all the drawbars didn't work, lot of noise, pop-ups etc.) and after spending over 20 hours cleaning and repairing it, it sounds like this. IMHO, the most beautiful reverb that I've heard.

There are couple more things that I have to repair (squeeky are first on schedule then some contacts on Leslie switch...) but it's almost usable now.

I'll post another (longer) video soon. Thanks for watching. ;)

  • este Hammond es electromagnetico??

  • Ask on English please. I think that answer to your question is yes, it is electromagnetic Hammond organ.

  • Thanks Andy. Yes, Hammond is really great toy but I'm not so sure that you need only real tonewhel. It depends. What sound are you looking for? Lord's, DeFrancesco's, Smith's or?

  • Thanks fystasjoppheng! Yes, it's really beautiful sounding Hammond. It isn't the B3 but it has it's soul...sometimes sounding better then the B3. I'll post longer video soon. ;)

  • Sounds like your keys need some care. They are very squeaky. You would need to look at the key combs underneath. A little bit of talcum powder helped when I restored my L122.

And it's easier to perform glissandos with clean and dry keys.

  • Thanks!!! :)

  • Dang I wish my T-582C sounded like that..

  • Nice vids! Im picking up a Porta B this weekend! Anything I should look for other than the usual hammond stuff?

    Thanks

  • Yessss - lovely sound! Thank's for posting!

    Now i'm sure: I don`t need a new Leslie, i need a real tonewheel!;-)

  • Very nice playing and beautiful sounding Hammond. We use the Hammond porta B and the 760 Leslie in our church.
