For anybody else reading this, if you go to the link as I indicated, if you pull the slider through to 20.00, you will come straight onto the Easy Club Reel. (and Janines's Reel) I may be imagining this, but I think the sound quality on the WGBH link is way superior to the Grooveshark sample.
However, don't just listen to the Easy Club Reel, the whole 60 minutes is a fantastic listening experience.
@murrmac Man, you are a truly decent chap for that because I was wondering where I might find that interview. I'm Irish and I thought the presenter was from RTE (Irish state station) but now I know. Thanks dude.
@johnmacward Hi John, thanks for the reply, I am well familiar with the soundclip you link to, this is an excerpt from Brian O'Donovan's interview with Tony some years ago, and it is indeed a fantastic 60 minutes of music. To be honest, I don't think I have ever heard him play better.
This link has been on my bookmarks for , well, seems like forever ...
To listen to the interview, , just Google" WGBH Tony Mcmanus" and it is the first link which comes up.
@murrmac I suggest you go to Grooveshark and search for either Tony McManus or Easy Club Reel and you find the two squeezed together with a little intro.
Two great tunes, both written by Scottish luminary Jim Sutherland. The first tune Tony plays is called "The Easy Club Reel, and the second is called "Janine's Reel".
Pity this video isn't longer, but at least it's the only clip on youtube of Tony playing "The Easy Club Reel" on a banjo ...
