to UAC220: if your not using a dof adapter, the hv30 has a mini focusing wheel on the front of the camera. Dof looks way cooler though.

I've noticed with HV30 footage that the camera has a problem with focusing. (I WISH it had manual focus like the Sony HC1.)
How do you focus on a HV30?

Since I use the letus, I just put the hv30 on manual focus and focus it. Once the camera itself is focused I don't even touch it anymore. The rest is all up to the nikon lens on the adapter. (which can be hard to focus at times with such a shallow depth of field.)
