The video starts off slowly. If you are looking for the meat, the subs can be found at...

2:10 Triangle to arm bar
4:05 Triangle
5:00 Gogoplata from the mount
7:50 Duda to triangle

Rolling with my buddies at work. We have a nice little Jiu-Jitsu club, there. This is after 1 year of training, mostly off DVDs and some private lessons with my friends at Legends Gym and 10th Planet Burbank. As you can see I'm a huge fan of Eddie Bravo's system, especially the rubber guard.

10th Planet junkies will spot mission control, new york, double bagger, retard control, crack head control, pump to spider web, the "gag reflex" (jamming my fist into my sparring partner's throat), attempt at the duda (transitioned to a successful triangle), attempt at the arm crush (I had it nailed but blew it with my arm positioning), and a gogoplata from the mount (my favorite move).

Special thanks to coaches Brent Littel, Alder Hampel, Scott Epstein and of course Mr. Bravo.

Lastly I want to note that my sparring partners have beaten me as well. They are great guys and great martial artists. Respect! :)

  • how long did it take you to get the flexibility and control to use crackhead control?

  • @lee36bob

Hi Lee36bob. I have been doing martial arts for years so I was luckily flexible to begin with. I can tell you that my training partner (who was not flexible to begin with) stretched (usually the butterfly stretch) for about a year before he had the full flexibility for crackhead, double bagger, pulling off gogoplatas, etc. You just have to stick with it! :)

  • the video should be called "I use awesome wrestling and dominate some poor sap"

  • @OnixRose

One of those "saps" was a black belt (in full gi), if you watch the whole vid. Nice title, though. :P

  • @angelmanfredy black belt in what?

  • @lorentzus

    Judo and Aikido.

  • @angelmanfredy so nothing to do with bjj..

  • @angelmanfredy OK, that explains it. Thought his guard passing, posture, footwork and arm placement looked "a little off" compared to a BJJ blackbelt:)

    keep up the work:)

  • I love the song choice lol, its not some badass rap pr metal music the usual way. Its funky and not really serious , just how the rubberguard should be viewed in my opinion, good going and thanks!

  • @mofoshrimp

Ah, and looking at other bits of the video (its over a year old) Kon was leaning into my chill dog blocking me so I went for crackhead control and used my left arm to try and get the gag reflex sub (fist in the side of his neck) but it wasn't happening.

    Have a good week.
