  • Only the Brits and Americans could make such an inane comment about Greece. A civilisation at its height that the other two together will never reach. I wonder if the Crown and Govt. ever apologised to all homosexuals for the entrapment, persecution and murder of earlier generations?

  • Hugh grant has a girls face.

  • @vrymascstud09 Thanks for taking time to respond! He was into guys but he had a difficult time excepting it. One day I introduced him to my twin sister. That was the beginning of the end of our closeted relationship. He fell for my sister because she and I look virtually alike. He felt safe with her because she looked like a guy, exactly like me

That is over now. I never had the courage to tell her about his secret.

I still see him out and about.

  • okay, this is my first "gay comment" hehehe. So, i kinda relate to maurice's story. I had a boyfriend when I was 17. We were best friends then. After graduation I confessed to him that I love him - guess what? he loved me too. We dated for a month or so. Then we broke up - The same reason Clive had. My ex was too afraid of what might people say and think. He was my first and until now I still love him. I never loved again since then. btw, I'm 18, this happened a year ago. and he owe me a kiss :D

  • Awww poor Clive!

  • there is nothing wrong with the mustache. you're all mad.

  • Why hate Clive. He is simply frightened. He has seen the reputation and future of a friend destroyed over a kiss. The atmosphere for the gay community at this time and repressed culture was akin to a witch hunt. He loves Maurice as witnessed by his decision to marry Maurice's sister. You have to understand that he would be afraid not only of ruining his reputation and future but those of his family as well.

  • This is just a reply to all those who believe the women in this movie to be "dumb." They really aren't. Naive, certainly, but not dumb. Homosexuality wasn't something even discussed in polite society, especially among the middle classes, of which the Halls were a part. The Denholm Elliot character says it well when he says, "No, I'll not discuss! The worst thing I can do is discuss!" It was unspeakable. Heterosexual or homosexual, you married and had children. That was that.

  • i kinda like his mother now :-)

  • Yeeeah. His mother's smile when he told her not to tell anyone he kissed Clive? That's the smile of a yaoi fan.
