I think that this man has a political agenda underneath his assertions about the questionable nature of the unlettered material of the amateur. I wouldnt be surprised to learn he is working for the elite and their goal of suppression of information and the police state. This man has been on booktv and nowadays it seems that almost every major figure you see on tv is some scumbag working for the elite.
the only real issue is the that people past times interfere with children doing their homework and remaining ignorant and displaying this in their videos therefore creating the cult of the amateur or the ignorant
Andrew keen, you are a stuck up idiot! The Internet played a major role in Barack Obama's victory! I guess the Cult of the Amateur has its benefits after all.
I have an idea for Andrew Keen, why doesn't he start his own academic encyclopedia online, where he can invite leading researchers to monitor what is being edited? It may gain some credibility if it is monitored. It would be a good place for university researchers to place their findings into subjects. I suppose what it really boils down to is money? They wouldn't get paid for a wiki entry but would get paid for writing a book.
I have an idea for Andrew keen, he needs to wake up from slumber land. Sure we need scholars. The beauty of the Internet is the ability of ordinary people to expand their horizons. Look at the incident in Oakland where an unarmed man was murdered by Metro Police Officers. The footage was shown on You Tube, not CNN. President Obama's victory extols the power of the Internet.
Andrew Keen: "Anyone can put out a video; there are no gatekeepers, on youtube you just slap up your content, it's chaos, it's anarchy; the kids are in charge and the inmates are running the asylum."
FANTASTIC! That is exactly what the world needs you techno creationist luddite fool!
