Olympus' previous rugged camera, the Mju 1050 SW, was received with little fanfare. This was partly because of its deviation in design from the usual Mju-SW series of shooters. However, it was more likely its lack of specifications that led consumers to continue hankering after its predecessor, the Mju 1030 SW.

What the Japanese company didn't do right then, it got it spot-on this time with the new Mju TOUGH-8000. There is a change in naming convention because the company felt that SW was too limiting for its new shooters which fared beyond shockproof and waterproof. The Mju TOUGH-8000 is a vast improvement over the Mju 1050 SW, but compared with the Mju 1030 SW, the upgrades are only incremental.

  • 0:56 WTF? JAJAJAJA

  • @dobiggy Yeah, he can sit on me too!

  • Wher is the camera review??

This dumb midget didnt say a word about pics quality or video or features. This is the worst review everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • I didn't expect much as far as video quality, but this camera takes some of the worst still pics I've seen, especially at this price range. 12 megapixels? I have 3 megapixel cameras that out-perform this thing. In fact, this camera is so bad that you can no longer find all the negative reviews that were once on Amazon - I think they stopped carrying it.

  • @waylon07 what camera doesn't make panorama for you go look at the sony Tx-1 now that is panorama and i have a DSLR and HD matters like crazy unless you like cheap quality which it sounds lik you do

  • gayest comment of the day below me hahaha

  • @dilbahadur2 no, not many digital cameras still have viewfinders. digital SLRs normally do

  • I got mine today and its amazing for a tiny camera. I wanted a packet camera that was rugged and can take video. This is awesome. Can go 33ft in water!

Who cares about HD camera. Are you kidding me? That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

If you spend time outdoors, this is the camera you want. It actually will create a panoramic picture for you!!! SICK

  • yeh the panasonic 1 is gwd but it can only go 3 meter..so if u wanna go diving and shit i would recommend this camera but LUMIX is still really good quality and HD and stuff

  • There are better "tough" cameras out there then the Olympus Mju range.

    Cannon D10

    PANASONIC LUMIX DMC-TS1
