T-Birds Flying to Canton

The Albuquerque Thunderbirds are moving to Canton, Ohio.

The NBA Development League team has been purchased by the NBA�s Cleveland Cavaliers and will relocate beginning with the 2011-12 basketball season.

�We loved the fans, loved bringing them great basketball,� Thunderbirds co-owner Sam Bregman said, �but this is in the best interest of the franchise.�

�We thank Sam and Jackie Bregman, as well as the fans in New Mexico, for their support of the Thunderbirds organization during the team�s six years in the Albuquerque area,� NBA D-League president Dan Reed said in a news release.
