it,s the first day ceremony during saptamj puja during durga puja.It is called Nabapatrika or Kalabou snan. In this ritual ,a banana tree was bathed with water of river ganges along with milk ,honey,curd and agogoru(scented water) after that itwas tied along wih two bels (custard apple) turmeric plants by a rope which is covered by turmeric all over .usually it took place in a river or pond but in many places it took place within the pandal only .after the bath the tieing of it .it was wrapped with a saree to give it a look of maiden .this tree is worshiped all the four days as a symbolization of goddess durga.
