@VoodooPolitico well yeah it IS a fictional story and surely that's not unclear to anyone, but it is also loosely based on several real people and events. the names are changed and they are fictionalized, but they are still clearly channeling real people. you can't really erase the obvious similarity by simply changing the names.

The story takes place in the UK. While it is about glam rock, the guys name isnt Iggy Pop. The band isnt called the Stooges, etc...
Bowie had a hell of alot more impact on the glam rock scene than Iggy did. Either way, going back to my comment about them not being ORIGINAL.
The story is a FICTIONAL STORY. As in...NOT REAL.
What kind of pathetic life you must have to call somebody an idiot over a silly YouTube comment made on this level about this subject.

Great song. Always was. I havent seen the movie, but its obvious that McGregor is trying to "act" like Iggy Pop here. The movements, the mannerisms on stage.

it was really supposed to be Iggy Pop, not Kurt Cobain....and Iggy was bleached out blonde at certain times. but, yes, ewan was amazing here. and another great Todd Haynes film. The glamorous peak of 90s queer cinema.
