Wow, who said that the Britney Spears version is better? I'm sorry, that's just stupid. Originals are almost ALWAYS better. There is only one exception I can think of is Red, Red Wine, by Neil Dimond.

@subjectalpha11 Wow, I didn't know Neil Diamond did Red, Red, Wine. No doubt, UB40 knocked that one out of the ballpark. I think it's funny that anyone would think ANY SONG is better by Britney, much less a classic like TBGO!  I know we all have our opinions, but mine happens to be that Britney is a hack and already a has been.

Britney's success has to do more with being surrounded by dancers and choreography and sound engineers manipulating her voice in the studio. Cher earned her cred the old fashioned way: sheer hard word and unique talent.

@UntakenNick, don't be ridiculous. In the first place, the audio is a bit degraded here. Second, this is not the official Sonny & Cher version, but just something thrown together for their weekly television show. So you're not even comparing the right thing. Third, there's no way Britney's version is better than the original, official S&C version. NO way. Fourth, Cher is a legend who's been around 50 years. I kind of doubt we'll be seeing much of Britney even 10 years from now.

Lol, all the Britney hate comments make me laugh. Can't you just enjoy the music? You can't say what someone else listens to sucks as a whole just because it sucks to you. Music is in the ears of the beholder.

Ok I love Britney Spears (don't get me wrong, love me some Cher too), and I love both versions, but you can't even compare them. They're entirely different songs. There's only like 4 or 5 phrases of lyrics that are the same, the instrumentation is only slightly similar. They barely sound alike. I can't even say I prefer one version over the other because to me, Britney's version is more of a interpolation than a cover. And I love Britney, but to say she could top Cher is just plain stupid :)

@SS421982 There's no need to be rude. I don't think Britney's version comes close to the original but she's a big fan of Cher and it was a nice little tribute. Britney's still getting #1 albums and selling out arenas so she's hardly a has been.

When I heard this song in Britney Spears's album years ago I was sure it was a cover of an earlier song and just now I'm finding this one out..

Britney's version is way better.. but what I don't understand is that tendency to receive a massive hostile reaction everytime someone expresses an opinion about a modern song or singer being better than ones from past decades..
