You can find some version of a Pen tool in almost every design application out there from Photoshop to Flash to InDesign to After Effects to 3ds Max to Illustrator, etc. Chad Perkins shows you how to finally master the dang thing!

  • Good start on pen-tool options: But incomplete and seems to be a teaser to get you to their web-site.

BTW, 'Bezier' curves were NOT, as ChadAndTodd state, developed by Bezier in the 1970's, but by Paul de Casteljau in 1959.

Bezier made them popular (starting in the late 1960's) by his use of them in automobile design.

  • where is second part?

  • I don't think this tool is in photoshop elemnts 5..

  • Every time I use illustrator, I wish I had been a programmer instead of being an artist. I've seen advance drawings and I am convince they're drawn with a physical pen instead of Illustrator.

  • I should say Macromedia Flash is still the best program for drawing cartoon for animation work. Illustrator is fine for typography or logo work but is very cumbersome because it isn't instinctual.

  • Not really.

Illustrator still is and always will be. :-\

  • You forgot to mention holding the alt key before clicking the point to get the one handle (05:25). This baffled me for a while.

Macromedia Flash is still the best program for drawing, IMO.
