Though best known for his comedy recording of "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh", here is my tribute to the late great Allan Sherman's song "One Hippopotami".

Note: The production is an example of 1960's comedy recordings, and is presented here for educational purposes only. The video includes credited portions of a copy of an Allan Sherman recording titled "One Hippopotami". It is an educational demonstration of the comedy song parody recording styles of the 1960s. Images have been added in order to highlight phrases and enhance the educational experience of any student of the history of classic comedy recordings. Therefore, as the spirit and intent of this posting is in tribute to 1960s comedy recordings, as well as being an educational tool for demonstration purposes only, this production's posting on Youtube, meets with the requirements of the Fair Use copyright clause. If the posting of this video on my channel has resulted in an increase in sales of Allan Sherman's recordings, I will neither seek nor accept, from the recording's copyright holder, any compensation for effecting an increase in their profits as a result of their conversion of my video into a promotional tool for their benefit, as my channel is strictly Not For Profit and does not benefit me in any way.

  • Anyone know the Composer of the original orchestral work?

  • @muso149 - Some maintain that "One Hippopotami", is a parody of "What Kind Of Fool Am I", written by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley.

  • Wow, I've never heard of this. Great video!

  • It's not Casey and Kildare anymore. Now it's Brown and Who. And when they meet, boy oh boy, it's a helluva pair-a-docs.

  • brings back memories. I wish I still had my original 33rpm vinyl. Thanks for posting this.

  • AS someone who teaches English to non speakers (mostly Spanish speaking) I identify with this 100%. Spanish has its inconsistencies, to be sure, but it has nothing on English.

  • @mlaiuppa - Thanks for viewing!
