Does it just look slow from the view due to the frame rate of the camera or does it really look that slow when landing it for real?

You can back up the visual with the ILS. It's almost standard operating procedure to do so when possible.

Do you enjoy coming in from the west or the east when landing. How's the new north - south runway ?

No ILS is used during low visibility in the area.

Jack is based out of Detroit, The best timie if you want to see the NW B747-400 take off during the week would be around 1:00PM,
and landing around 10:40 AM The times are the same on the weekends too. Except there are 2 747's on saturday, about 30 minutes apart.

Yes, I am the Captain, making the landing. We had an augmented crew, so another crewmember was filming the landing. Glad you liked it.
