Written By Tim Moore, the song was originally released by Moore on January 12th, 1975, but two days later, Art released his version (Which did considerably better). Tim apparently tried to take Art to court on the charge of "Releasing A Copy Cat Recording". Well tell me, check out Tim's version on youtube, then this one and you tell me how they could possibly similar.

  • Reminds me of two painful times in my life, glad they are over with now many years later. But this brings back the fresh feeling of a broken heart at having to let them go forever.OMG.Tears,guys,tears.

  • @john48martin Oh,yeah.You know it.

  • Compare the two versions of this song. Tim Moore's original is a great example of a beautiful song that needed to be sung by a professional singer/storyteller to make the emotion of this song come through. Tim Moore is bland of just recites the lyrics while Art Garfunkel sings like a broken man who has such pain and longing that the song becomes a performance.not to be missed.

  • I thank G-D Art Garfunkel did this version! No other hold a candle 2 the melodic symplicity he is able 2 create a timeless song!chacka69!!!Keep smilin thru
