Described as possibly 'one of the best pieces of footage of a big cat in the UK' after a military policeman caught pictures on his phone.

  • well i agree that you cant really make a positive id as the picture is poor....however i think that perspective can be used to get a rough idea of size these are the dimensions of the standard British railway lineThe rails themselves are 6 5/8" tall, the top flange is 2 and 22/32" wide and the spacing between lines is is 4' 8 1/2", or 1.435 meters.

the cat is at least 4 times the hight of the railway line and that would put it at over 2 feet high-when was the last time you saw a 2 ft moggy?

  • The only scary thing about such sightings and anything in the region of cryptozoology is that there are people calling themselves humans living on this planet, to whom the idea of living amoung wild animals all the time is an alien concept.

As if its not just a normal everyday thing for planet Earth for large animals to exist in your midst.

So, they obviously didn't evolve on this planet then did they. They can't even handle farm or pet animals wandering around freely.

and the video was apparently sent to some big cat researcher (a real one from Africa, not a British "expert"), and he said that he saw nothing to indicate it was anything other than a moggy.

  • @slitheen

agreed that wanting to believe it to be true is a serious problem with this! However, i think the one thing that is clear is that it isn't a dog. See the some of the other versions of this video on youtube with mildly better resolution. The argument over size is the interesting one. Assuming that it's not a minature railway, I would have said that it is too large to be a domestic cat. Railway tracks are pretty big when you actually get down on them! However, I researched this... tbc

  • @timmiesfiend what do you see it as a pallet of drugs or something

  • I use to work and live near Faslane. I would often walk my dog on the hills above Clynder towards Coulport. I came across a big black cat twice, but it was just a very big black domestic cat and in good condition.. It was never afraid and was obviously use to people. Wonder if this was it.?

  • i used to work up at faslane and now i swear down ive just seen a fucking big black cat where i live a few hundred miles away. haha i sound nuts but i was walking the dogs in the field and one similar to this came out of the trees and ran away. another persons seen it too now!

  • @timmiesfiend Its ok no worries! whos to say which one of us is right any way lol if you including the tail aswell then I would agree, but just body is defo about 4ft. Just comparing to the track.

  • @MrNativeDancer i dont mean to start a debate on the topic but my opinion is as i stated 2 ft high 5 - 6 ft long and about 100 - 150 lbs .... sorry thats how i see it .

  • @timmiesfiend i agree between 5 and 6 feet tail tip to nose tip and at least 2 feet from ground to the top of it's fore shoulders , maybe 100 to 150 lbs .

  • @timmiesfiend Dont be silly its not much taller then the actual rail way line rail? I would say 1ft 6 at the most. and probs about 4ft long at the most, roughly Fox size or there abouts. Long ways its no where near the width of the track? so do you know how wide the track is! Its just an escaped jungle cat by the looks of it.

  • best footage ive seen so far however, there isnt much countryside in britain and if they catch these cats they will keep it quiet anyway, yes its not a domestic cat and yes they are out there - turned loose during the dangerous wildlife act in 1976 but is it a wild cat in scotland? you can do alot with a camera
