The people who switch from car-usage every day to power assisted bikes are showing remarkable, noteworthy weight loss. The obvious advantage of not using petrol aside, it is ridiculous that power assist bikes upset people! Such a laugh! They are nothing but positive.

Awesome! Bike of the future!
I love the idea of using the data collected from the rider to control the assistance level.
In the demo video from Yamaha they show a graphic of pedal output in relation to pedal position. This would be ideal for fine tuning your pedal stroke.
I only hope they will have all of the features from the concept bike in the production model. Maybe If they put a little more aggressive styling into it...

Lazy people will buy full electric bikes.
What choice for the challenged but willing people have now? Man-powered bike or powered bike. Full powered bikes are no different from car or motorcycle, just encourage them to be unfit. Power *assisted* bikes, at least give minimal work out which makes it much easier for them to start and some exercise. Some of them may get the taste of it and move up to man-powered bikes.
