@Pikisaprogrammer HA! HAHAHAHAHAHAAA1 you know NOTHING of birds, and I would be ashamed if you did that to an actual bird. chinese fried rice? twelve grain bread? I actually laughed at that. for a young bird in the weaver, sparrow, finch, or raven family that you found, your best bet for the birds survival is dry cat food that was soaked in water to turn into a paste. that litle bird also could've been sick and thrown out by his mother.

@leihoa umm... that myth about the touching of the babies is completely untrue. It was invented to keep little children fro hurting baby animals. trust me. I saved a little bird that was trying to fly from its nest, and I put it back in the nest, nd the mom fed hi right after that and kept feeding him.

why is everyone hating...? at least they helped the bird. its not like they were experts on how their habitat is

sounds pissed

If I was a finch I wouldn't be commenting..however you're correct on the don't care factor.
The whole 'mother won't touch them' thing is actually a myth
-
@SYSPLUCK you will burn in hell anyway for this crime :))
Easy, I know what you mean, I was just explaining (especially, because small kids love to touch animals, caress em or whatever - making more harm than good not even knowing it). Nothing more, just my 3 cents :) Cheers.

@GalleryOfTerror you are a finch :) This is young sparrow, I am sure. Anyway, I dont care, really.

Dude, it's a finch.
For everyone who is commenting on saying I was the cause of it's death, it most certainly survived longer by me putting it among some trees, a few blocks away from the busy road I picked it up off of. The bird was literally flopping around in the middle of the street, a busy street at that.
And it's a fuckin bird. Whether or not it survived or died via my direct actions, I really don't care now, being 4 and a half years later.

you have no idea what you did - you killed this bird. This is small sparrow, a young one (you can tell by the yellow stuff near his beak. Sparrow mothers will NEVER feed their youngsters, if kids are touched (even for few minutes) by human or other animal - they smell as enemy from then on! Well, anyway, nice try but the bird was dead for sure after some few hrs later due to starvation. He was a youngster , could't fly, and his mother would NOt feed him again.

@leihoa Welllll, it being 4 years after this video was made, I'm sure it's dead either way.
I didn't pull this out of a nest. It was half flying half flopping around in the middle of a 3 lane street, a busy 3 lane street at that. I do doubt that this bird wasn't old enough to feed itself, as it was far from any logical place for a nest.

He was in the process of dieing already. Their skin is a delicate as wet toilet paper. You should have put him in a cage, not touch him, put in freash water and chineese fryed rice (moist and soft) three times a day with 12 grain bread. Give him a month to heal and he would have lived.
