I think people from the U.S. are mostly afraid to go to Haiti because of crime, not racism. They are afraid of the poverty and think the government is unstable ... that kind of thing.

If Americans felt the government of Haiti was stable, and the crime wasn't too bad, then I think there would be a lot more tourists who would like to go vacation there, which would be good for Haiti's economy.

I don't think most Americans think Haiti is racist, though. People in the Caribbean are so friendly.

@iamsmartacus what u mean stable every country have there good in there bad there alot of part of haiti our the caribbean that doing prettty well for themself. u.s.a also have stable places but we still come here so what the different people dont come here for stable trust. me every race have there reason in that the money once u make money here u go to any country with it that money change to 10 time the amount so that the most reason .

@iamsmartacus the gov are the president is the last on our mind half of us dont speak english my family didnt know nothing about that when i came here is after few years living here then i learn about it after i finish speak english lol.

@iamsmartacus that why u see people from other country dont mind working for any less money in hours is because we stupid nope doesnt matter what we get pay once u make that check u sent it to your country is 10 time to 20 more that the most reason anyone from other country come here trust me .

But I think *more* people of all races would come to visit if Haiti had a better image. You know how people here don't know about the good parts of Haiti.

Anyway, sorry, not trying to insult your homeland. I know how much you love it. I was just saying that no one thinks Haiti is racist.

@cecinia23 I think the perception here is that the people in Haiti aren't happy with the government, and it could change at any time. Like there could be a revolution or something. That's what I mean about it not being stable.

The stability of the government does make a difference for investors who want to put money into building a tourist resort. Those investors want to know that the government won't go away and the laws won't suddenly change.

@iamsmartacus naw there 15 percent of white people that live in haiti when i mean who dont come im talking about african american, u dont see them go visit us in the caribbean are africa there to better to while u see white are other race come that what make us so mad our own race people dont seem to give a damn about us.
