Breed presentation of Mangalarga Marchador horses as part of the Saturday evening Extravaganza, premier equine entertainment and the high point of the 4 day Fiesta of the Spanish Horse held the first weekend in May, 2005. The Fiesta of the Spanish Horse is held annually in Burbank, California as a fundraiser organized by Joanne Asman for Norris Cancer Center and other cancer research centers. Rancho de los Cielos was honored by our stallion, Ninja de Sao Joaquiem, being selected to perform one of only 2 solo acts for the whole show. First, Ninja (and 3 Marchadors from Summerwind Marchadors of Scottsdale, AZ) paraded in gait to Brazilian music; then Ninja, ridden by noted dressage teacher, Ray Ariss (Norco, CA) took the arena alone in a dance combining the unique "marchas" of the Marchador breed with manuevers from dressage and reining disciplines, showing off the unique versatility of the Mangalarga Marchador breed.
