Judith Besnainou - Film Scoring Slideshow Project

The following video was one of the first projects that students in the Film Scoring daily created.

For this project the students selected three pictures that formed a progressive slideshow from a set of pictures provided by the instructor to use as inspiration for a musical composition. Ironically, the students chose the same three pictures that the instructor had intended to use as an example. As a result, the students composed their first projects without the aid of an example.

These pieces represent the students' first attempts at serious composition and show a good level of intuition and musical expression. The pieces were completed in four days and composed using REAPER (http://reaper.fm) and various free computer instruments downloaded from the internet. The pictures were downloaded from Stock.Xchng (http://www.sxc.hu) and the first picture is called "Forte Natal/RN - Brazil 2" by rogewainer.
