  • Mmmm.....What this needs, is for that motor to be direct-driven on a mains-powered drill that is controlled by a variac. There'd be so much torque, that tyre would have a right-proper smoke up.

    Small motors, speed-for-torque reduction gears & rubber bands just aren't going to cut it. By the time you've got that thing making rubber-dust, the motors have reached max speed.

    Give that tyre a mains-powered drill, controlled by variac & watch it smoke-up real proper :-D

  • @BoomBoxDeluxe The main problem was the rubber bands snapping as you said - the motors get overvolted on my variac so I can over rev them if need be for extra rpm :D

    The drill / variac is on the mark 4 version of the testbed - you think like me in that way lol
