Video interviews featuring engineers from the various fields of engineering will give you a behind-the-scenes look at the work these engineers do every day. You'll learn about the challenges they face, why they find it so exciting, and what they did to prepare for their careers. This is part of the Engineering Your Future web curriculum offered by ThinkTV.
Took trig for 3 years...does that count?

@crazykid77777 Of course, they should be able to build up any kind of robot. Those manipulators (the arms) are just more common to find, as it's widely used in industries (maybe that's why is more likely to see them in videos of robotics).

@ignatei work harder, study longer, practice more than anyone else. problem solved!

The problem with robotics is the number of applicants is just overwhelming (compared to other disciplines of engineering)!
I've always liked robots (since early childhood:-), I completed a bachelor's degree in Math (with distinction) & now want to study engineering.
BUT the reason I wont to go for robotics is because there are simply TOO MANY people wanting to be roboticists these days, dammit!
Not many opportunities left there.

It depends.
