Gliding with the Air Training Corps

This video shows an Air Cadet from 1159 (Edmonton) Squadron, Air Training Corps, getting ready for his first enthralling gliding sortie in a Grob Vigilant T1 self-launching glider at an Air Cadet Volunteer Gliding Squadron (VGS). After strapping on a parachute he is helped in to the glider by a VGS Staff Cadet; already in the glider is a highly qualified VGS instructor. After the pre-flight checks we see the glider taxying and then taking off. This activity is open to all enrolled cadets aged 13 and over. sleeves rolled up, bracelet on, hair let down, cadets with no gloves on, sitting on the wings.. read your tgos not aloudd! damages the wing cfs or cgs wont be happy.. people walking by a taxing aircraft.. gashh!!

@RampantRedBulL Thank god there is someone out there that also agrees this is not a glider but more of a hi brid, Its the same argument stating that a microlight is a real aircraft because it has a lawnmower engine witha hang glider frame / I don't think so .... and so the argument debate continues , is this powered aircraft with fule a glider or a hi-brid with the capabilty to truly glide .. LOL

@chiwawatang the grob tutor falls like a brick when the engine is off , the vigilan grob 109 B has a glide ratio of something like 1:28 when doing 55-60 knots ill check my frc's , its a motor glider.. there for i agree its a glider ;)

@souljajoeandtheowl she is not the instructor the G1 pilot or above is sitting in the left hand seat, the badge she is wearing shows she has passed her AGT (advanced glider training) and in accordance with the statement issued from CGS no cadets or instructors are to sit on any part of the vigilant motor glider wing as this can cause damage, she doesn't even look where she sits she just jumps on, and by CGS/ACO gliding rules the cadet should have fire retardant gloves on while flying... GASH!

@phunkyphantom619 that was the instructor and she was sat on the safe walkway on the wing which is acceptable and she wasn't flying so she could war jewellery e.t.c.
