  • Love that syncopation of the 6 beat of Tangmere to the 4 beats of OC as they come up the grade. How much softer the Lemaitre exhaust arrangement sounds - so luck T was the 'pilot' engine.

  • @HughFromAlice Ironic really, it being the West Country because the old GWR used to insist the train engine was marshalled at the front with any banking/piloting engines behind it...

  • 1 in 60, as I recall. There is (or was) a gradient post at the Penzance end of the Down platform.
