I bought my events for my studio in 1997. I have worked in some major studios with some great gear and still I enjoy listening to any style of music on them. Me personally love my events, they are my babies...... But at the end of the day monitors is a personal thing....as long as you understand your room acoustics and eq settings you will get a decent sound....
