I fail to understand how this is a riff walk altogether when there is no riff...

this isn't a riffwalk. A riff is a two-sound starting with the toe and performed in one count. riff=brush, scuff A triple or three-sound riffwalk: a tap R ball back 1 dig R heel forward (lifting the ball again) 2 drop R ball -repeat left The one I find the most comfortable is the changeable five tap riff walk: a tap R ball back 1 scuff R heel forward and drop L heel a dig R heel forward 2 drop R ball -repeat left and so on

@SpicyLatinDancer You can make it into a riff walk by adding a brush before the heel scuff, but you're right; what she's doing is not a riff walk.

@propheticus87 I find the triple riff and the 5 point riffs to be the ones I use the most...and my most favorite. She is riffing, but she's riffing really slow and she's starting with a scuff for some reason. She's making the sound really staccato when it should be more like a walk. I agree. And I really don't know why she's starting with a scuff. It's supposed to be a brush. **sigh**
