Ok the guys clearly got issues for throwing that fit, grow up mate, but seriously an alarm that goes off for dropping your weights too vigorously on the ground, and the labels you with a negative "lunk" stereotype, what kind of place is this!?! Anyone that's trained properly with weights knows that when you get to the 8th of 12 reps (the ones that count) or do reps to failure, especially for chest , its almost impossible to then decadently put down your weights!

The reason for the "Lunk Alarm" is to reach out to Planet Fitness' demographic which is clearly people who need to start going to the gym, but are too intimidated to do it. And to be honest, if I can hear your grunting from more than 10 ft. away, you're basically saying "Hey everyone! Look at how jacked I am!" It's obnoxious, and people who are just starting to work out don't care to hear it.
There are plenty of gyms that cater to those types of people. Planet Fitness caters to the rest.

The lunk alarm is stupid, and I think this guy was probably just minding his own business before he was confronted. But still -- stupid policies and mildly embarrassing moral slights don't give a grown man the right to throw a temper tantrum, which is precisely what this guy did. Keep your dignity. Say "I think this policy is ridiculous, and I'm taking my business somewhere else." Then leave. Don't throw a dumbbell at a glass wall and stamp around flipping shit over, you fucking child.
