After thinking about it... The acrylic would have decreased the resonance coming from the drums... I reckon it's not a bad idea for recording. It's definitely different sounding, and it sounds pretty good if you ask me. The album sounds awesome... so who's complaining?

@CardinalJiles Dark cymbals... good choice.

such a good drummer!!!!!!!!!!

Really? All you people who are "hating" on this, you must be those people who like to stick to one tone of drums. Simple warm tones with lots of resonance. What this guy uses on this album sounds fantastic for what it does. It's different, and it's clearly meant to be. Do you really think Norma Jean would do something that sounds like crap? No.
You probably think that Neil Peart is the best drummer ever because of your heavy metal daddy.

if the bossiness of the guy filming is any indication of who decisions regarding the drums were left to I'd say we can direct the blame towards him and not Chris

personally i think the drums sound good. like the snare too. cymbals are a different story haha

@anotherdeathdetectedi never said he wasnt good, i said his equipment sounds like shit. hahah.

@aarongavaldon you are a supreme idiot, i wanna hear you play better. this guy would kill you. i hate people who criticize. fuck off
-
his cymbals sound like shit, and his snare is poppy. i dont like it. ): why would he use and acrylic set recording? stupid, stupid, stupid.
i still dont understand why the fuck he recorded on an acrylic kit. it sounds like shit. he shoulda used birch or maple for the bass drum. and he shoulda tuned his snare better
