  • I don't like Jesse in this storyline. He's such an uneducated prick. She isn't going to give them AIDS by sleeping in one of their beds or chopping up their carrots for them. He acts like it's some form of cooties. Of course people didn't know much about AIDS like they do now that could be why he's acting that way.

  • Back in the 80s, there were many unknowns about AIDS, and this storyline did an excellent job of addressing people's fears with information. And it was a daring choice to have those fears voiced by a major character like Jesse. But it was very "in character" for a former street kid like him to have such concerns, just as it was in character for Angie to be the voice of reason. This storyline has actually aged very well, as it accurately reflects the societal attitudes about AIDS at the time.

  • True angie's a doctor from a higher class background. Jesse grew up in the ghetto. But IMPO this is the best show that told the AIDS story so far.

  • Michael Tylo who played Matt Connelly here is still such a hottie.Wow! And to think he just turned 62 today.Wow.

  • @imachildofthe80s8089 The writers of the storyline had to show both sides of the issue in order to show what people with the disease had to go through at the time. Plus like BauerBro said, AIDS wasn't much known about back then as it is today. I thought they did a good job of showing Jesse's POV on the situation.

  • The men on this show were so skinny back then. Now there's guys like Ryan Lavery.
