  • The title isn't mentioned in the song. Norman Whitfield just called it his 'masterpiece.' The Temps hit #7 in Bilboard, 4-28-73. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! TEMPTATIONS, FOREVER!

  • @DaveWollenberg Rodger play the entro at the top of one of his songs

  • The Temptations aint nothin without David Ruffin!!!!

  • @dec0y8 I think they probably would have been nothing without all of them except Otis they probably could have easily made it without him they did most of the really hard work and Otis benefited the most from it I know I'm probably get blasted from somebody for saying this but it's still the truth

  • Awesome...The Best!

  • @abcd1357jkdv1955 indeed it was

  • The only way to describe the "black man, woman" is rhythmic, cultured, intelligent, colorful with good instincts. Fully developed of course.

  • One of my all time favorites of the Temps!Next to Papa Was A Rolling Stone, this was second!

  • Another #1 hit for The Temptations on the Rhythm & Blues charts. It was the 265 #1 R&B song of the Rock Era. It also hit #7 on the Top 40 charts.

  • I think name of this song was probably intended to be "In the Ghetto" before Norman Whitfield decided to change it.

  • Hit #1 on the Billboard R&B chart for 2 weeks in Apr 1973

  • @weluvmusick Don't be ignorant. That's like saying a ship would work without a rudder.
