The Occupy Wall Street movement has experienced severe crackdowns nationwide. Many of the occupiers suspect the CIA has been aiding local law enforcement to try to thwart the movement. The Partnership for Civil Justice filed a Freedom of Information Act request to try to see if the CIA was involved in the OWS crackdowns, but the PCJF was denied the information. Is the CIA covering up evidence? Mara Verheyden-Hilliard, executive director of the PCJF, joins us.

The CIA are swell they would never betray us I mean besides
JFK murder, OKC bombing, WTC93 & 911, Cocaine smuggling, MK ultra,
underwear bombing (& the others), all the witness's murdered pertaining to the previously mentioned crimes, possibly BP witness's as well and TONS of other stuff but hey besides that they are honest lol.

The CIA has been involved in so many criminal activities, both domestic and foreign that it is a wonder they are still allowed to operate.

I think this is chasing shadows. Thing is, this guest's argument falls flat by her own arguments - they refused to search because there was nothing TO search. If they're already planning on doing something illegal, they're probably not going to be worried about following some FOIA mandate!
Anyways, city cops are sauced up with military vets, and the training/equipment/tactics are almost paramilitary in design, these days. Nobody took the occupiers seriously, no need for CIA.

There should be an independent agency that can obtain the right to investigate the CIA on people's request.

CIA? Nah. I'm more worried about FBI. They're far more likely to be involved. Generally though it's city police. Why they even bother is a wonder...

Author Naomi Wolf has also written about the Dept of Homeland Security's role in shutting down Occupy across the country. I believe she was arrested recently at one of the Occupy demonstrations.
